There is no denying that removing junk from your property is quite the task. That’s why most people accumulate junk in the first place. This is especially true when it comes to bulky items like pianos, refrigerators, and coolers. These are the exact situation when you need to take advantage of our junk removal services.
How To Get Rid Of Pianos
When it comes to pianos and other bulky items, we’ve got you covered. We not only got you covered, but we do it most quickly and conveniently possible. It’s our goal to make your life and junk removal as easy as possible.
We’ll even guarantee to get the job done without causing a stir.
Our friendly, uniformed removers are not your average weekend cadets. They are daily, dedicated professionals that do the toughest removal jobs day in and day out. We are uniquely equipped to handle some of the most adverse removal jobs.
Piano Pick-Up Made Easier Than Ever
Piano disposal is nothing if not complex. The sheer size and awkward construction of the musical instrument make it one of the more awkward items to remove from any space. Some removals even require special tools and approaches. Whatever the situation might be, we’ve got the job handled. There honestly isn’t much we haven’t seen over the years and with our team’s combined insight and experience, we can handle any removal task without a hitch.
What Do I Do With My Piano?
If disposing of your piano was as simple as just bagging it up and tossing it in the trash your life would be much easier. So would ours, but we wouldn’t nearly profit as much. Pianos are, unfortunately, bulky, large, and even more awkwardly shaped.
In addition to this, they are typically constructed of materials that don’t naturally decompose into the earth. That’s why it’s part of your responsibility to carefully evaluate how to deal with your piano removal.
Is the musical instrument broken beyond repair? If it can be fixed, it might make a good donation to a school, church, or other non-profit.
Are you lucky enough to live in an area where your local garbage removal handles such big-ticketed items? Even if this is the case, there’s a good chance you’ll be responsible for getting the instrument to the curb for pick up.
That’s not the case when you take advantage of our services.
Just because you are thinking about getting rid of your piano doesn’t mean you necessarily have to pull the trigger immediately. Call us for a consultation and we’ll come out and discuss the removal and entire process with you.
Choose a removal plan, set a time for the removal, and clear the way for the removal.
Removing a piano is certainly more than a one-man job. Any little thing you can do to help will make the entire process so much smoother.
Can Pianos Really Be Donated?
There is no better way to dispose of your unwanted items than by donating them. This keeps them out of the already packed landfills and allows the items to serve some useful purpose. This couldn’t be any truer than with a piano. Any pianist would be thrilled with a free instrument, considering they typically cost thousands of dollars.
Donating such items as pianos can be just as tricky as the removal process. Donating might even be more of a hassle because you’ll need special equipment to transfer the instrument to its new home.
Luckily, you don’t even have to worry about this when you hire our services. If we determine the item or items can be donated, we’ll handle everything from the removal to the delivery of the items to the donation site. Here are some of the regular donation services we work with:
- Non-profit organizations
- Primary, grade, and high schools
- Community social groups
- Recreation centers
- Service clubs
- Afterschool programs and clubs
Donations are typically tax-deductible and one of the best ways to help cut down on your annual taxes.
What About Recycling?
Isn’t recycling always a viable option when it comes to junk removal? It is, and it’s one of the better options. Pianos can be constructed of a whole variety of materials. Wood, ivory, metal, steel wire, cast iron, and stainless steel screws. A lot of these items can be recycled and repurposed into useful daily materials.
If you want to give your piano a second life but find that it is in a state of disrepair, there is no better option than recycling. When you hire us, you don’t have to consider any of this because we always recycle what can be recycled.
Dismantle For Easier Removal
There is no denying that piano removal can be expensive. We are not a bit shy about giving accurate quotes up front for removal services. Pianos are especially costly due to their need for extra manpower and time.
In most cases, we typically have to disassemble the instrument just to get it out of the home. Whether you want to do the removal yourself or want to shave some of the initial cost from your bill, you can disassemble the piano yourself. How?
- Start by lifting and supporting the lid, so you can gain access to the inside
- Unscrew the desk or the area where the sheet music sits. This will grant access to the harp portion of the instrument
- Loosen the screws to this section and remove the cover
- Start with the lower access panel that covers the foot pedals. This will also grant access to the lower mechanism
- Remove the screws and the top lid
- Locate and remove the muffler device that runs along the hammers
- Once the bracket screws for the muffler are loosened, you should be able to start removing the keys
- Remove each individual key by pulling them straight up out of their seating arrangement
- Now, you’ll tackle the harp assembly which will contain steel strings similar to that of a guitar. The removal of these strings is nearly identical to the removal of guitar strings. You’ll turn the tuners counterclockwise until there is enough slack to remove them from their position
- The key bed will be removed next
- The side supports are the next to go
- Finally, you’ll be able to complete the disassembly by removing the piano harp
How We Operate
Just like pianos are constructed of many components and materials, there are many designs and styles. Regardless of the type of piano you are dealing with, we can take it off your hands. Whether it is a grand piano, a baby piano, a toy, a parlor style, or an organ, we can disassemble, donate, recycle, or trash it for you.
It’s just a matter of getting us out to your site. Call our toll-free number or schedule a consultation via our website. The consultation is free and this is where our evaluator assesses the removal job, gives you a quote, and schedules a date and time for the job.
Many times we can do the removal the same day if you are free. We offer emergency removal services for those in need, but unfortunately, these services must include additional charges.
You’ll know you are dealing with a professional company as soon as we show up on the site.
Every single one of our employees is courteous, friendly, properly attired and represents the very best our company has to offer.
