BBQ & Old Grill Pick Up

Table of Contents

There is no traditional summer activity that comes close to matching the joy of cooking out in the backyard. Hosting a cookout is an activity that involves the best of all worlds. You get good eats, ice cold drinks, great company, good conversation, the joy of children clamoring around playing games, the enjoyment of the outdoors, and the list could easily go on.

Whether you are a BBQ, smoker, gas, or charcoal family, you need the right equipment for the job. The right equipment is usually some form of grilling equipment, and they come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and designs. They can be as simple as a grill grate placed over hot burning coals or they can be as complex and modern as any appliance in your kitchen.

While these items can provide all the joys of summer, there is always storage to consider. These devices usually stay outside, albeit covered, year around. With their exposure to harsh elements, they tend to wear and corrode faster than most modern appliances. Simply put, there will come a time when you need to dispose of and replace that old cooker. The replacement might not be the most difficult task, but what are you going to do with that old grill?

There is no task too difficult, too big, or too small for our professional, experienced removers. The best part of all is we make sure the removed device goes to the best possible location. If at all possible to avoid the landfill, we’ll make sure the cooker and its components avoid the dump.

Where Can I Go To Trash My Old Grill?

While many counties and cities offer free dumping services, there is still the matter of hauling in there. This is something that takes time and effort. Luckily, these are things you need not concern yourself with when you take advantage of our removal services. The only finger you need to lift is to call us.

We’ll arrive right at the home at the designated time and date, remove the cooker, and dispose of it in the most effective manner possible. Of course, it isn’t always that easy, as some removal jobs may require disassembly on-site. Either way, we can handle any job.

You can always contact your local garbage removal and see if they take your grill design. You can even drive the device to a designated dump site. However, those options still require the effort of removing and transferring the item. That’s all avoided when you call us in.

What About Old Gasoline Tanks?

A lot of popular, modern grill designs function with the assistance of propane. There is nothing wrong with this, as many people prefer the style and taste of the cook. However, this type of setup does add an additional component to the equation. And that additional component can be dangerous. It is a flammable gas, after all.

With that in mind, all propane setups will require the removal of the tank and lines. Because of the dangerous nature of gas lines and tanks, there are a lot of dumps and removal services that do not knowingly accept these items. You can always check with local recycling centers and other dump services to see if they accept such items.

If they don’t, there is the option of a landfill. However, if you want to be greener or more productive with your lines and tanks, you can let us deal with them for you. We always make sure our customer’s removal items get to the best place possible. Simply put, if it can be donated, we’ll donate it. If it can be recycled, we’ll recycle it!

Can I Remove My Propane Tank Myself?

If you are a propane family, you are probably familiar with propane tanks and line installation and removal. Maybe this is your first propane setup. Whatever the case, if you’re going to cook with propane, you’ll need to learn to properly handle it. Here are some safety tips to keep in mind:

  • Although propane tanks are designed not to leak through the tap, you always want to make sure the tap is fully shut off before removing any connected lines or regulators
  • Most tanks are designed with a tap on top and turning it all the way to the right or clockwise shuts the tank off. Going counterclockwise or all the way to the left fully opens the tank. There is usually an indication arrow listed on the tap that can provide additional guided assistance
  • When the valve is safely turned off, twist the threaded pressure regulator. Righty to tighten left to loosen
  • Some tanks are secure to the grill frame assembly with a strap or screw. These items will likely need to be removed before lifting the tank out of place
  • Always store your disconnected tanks in a safe location. Avoid direct sunlight, colder climates, and never indoors
