Weatherspoon Art Museum

You don’t necessarily need to be an art lover or the slightest bit artistic to enjoy everything the Weatherspoon Art Museum has to offer. Housing a total of six galleries and a sculpture courtyard, there is a little bit of everything for everyone. The museum is home to some of the area’s most prominent local artists who are oftentimes featured alongside commissioned works of current UNC students attending the MFA program. Some of the more notable over the years have been Nick Cave and Lorraine O’Grady. With free parking and guided tours, the museum offers a unique experience at a fraction of what you’d spend at other similar museums. Although the center is open from Tuesday to Saturday, it is recommended to schedule tours and guides at least three weeks in advance!
